Said the back to the brain:
‘this vertebrate pain
is driving my spinal ladder insane’.
Said the brain to the back:
‘let’s give it a whack
as the wheels bounce your base on the joints in the track’.
Back gave a scream
and the tear ducts streamed,
as a nerve kicked out through the veil of codeine.
Brain was quick to remind:
‘Back, I’m not being unkind –
you’re just not made for this daily grind’.
